The second law, as outlined in the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra, is the law of giving and Receiving.
This law denotes that the universe is based on an exchange paradigm. Meaning when you give, you also receive. This is the flow of energy, the flow of the universe.
There are two things of importance to note. Firstly, the intentions behind the giving and receiving must be pure. You can not give simply because you feel obligated to give. The giving should be because you genuinely want to enrich someone’s life. Same with receiving. Accepting from the heart keeps the energy flowing.
Secondly, to be blessed with abundance, you must learn to give without expecting a return. If you want love, you must show love. If you want material things, you must give materially as well.
The more you give, the more you receive. But be careful about what you give because you will receive the same back. One can not expect unconditional love and attention if all you give is hate, lack of empathy, and distance.
Giving doesn’t always have to be of material things. Gifts can be a compliment, a prayer, a silent wish for joy, a flower, or a smile. The list is endless.
Let’s not forget the other end — Receiving. Whenever we receive something, whether material in nature or a compliment, we should accept it with joy and appreciation. No one is required to give gifts; the thought alone is precious.
How have you experienced the law of giving and receiving? Are you always a joyful giver and an appreciative receiver?
