Emotions vs Reality

We are the source of all our suffering. The catalyst for the suffering varies but most times, we suffer because we don’t want to see reality.

One thing about me is that I am guided by my heart. I show up for people to the fullest up front because spreading love is such an important yet lacking action in the world.

Showing up for everyone in this way causes so much heartache. People show me that my efforts aren’t appreciated and I continue and ignore the red flags. Because I refuse to accept reality, I allow myself to be taken advantage of and abused.

Takers have no limit so it it’s important for givers to learn to accept things as they are and not as they wish them to be. Wishing for what you want creates an emotional attachment to a nonexistent idea of reality, which in turn can cause heartache when reality finally breaks through.

Before it happened to me, I never understood how someone would stay in a toxic environment. But our emotions are a great distraction from doing what right for ourselves out of fear of shattering a dream.

As I continue to grow, reality comes to me much quicker and I am able to do what’s best for myself before an attachment takes over.

No matter what, you are the author of your life. Don’t let ideas of reality, fear of change or anything in between prevent you from living your best life with you at the center. Not everyone will agree with your decisions but they don’t have to. Emotions can lead us down roads we need to recover from but facing reality and truth may hurt but will get you to your destination with less scars.

Love yourself enough to see reality.
