When they say, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” I hear: “beauty is seen by those who can recognize it.” Hear me out.
Emily Dickerson once said, “Beauty is not caused, it is.” We don’t have the power or the ability to make something or someone beautiful because beauty exists outside of our human perception.
This falls into the same category as when we denote something as good or bad. It’s human nature to separate but within our soul, all exist as it should.
But, I digress.
If we were to look beyond our human opinions, we would understand that our outer shells don’t make us who we are. It is what’s inside that gives us our value.
The Bible, in 1 Samuel 16:7, talks about not judging outer appearances but look instead to the heart. I included this because I believe a person’s beauty exists even when others can’t see it and I believe it can be found in the heart.
It takes a self aware person to be able to see another person’s beauty. When you are aware of yourself, you can recognize the same in others.
Never wait for someone to recognize your beauty and know that you are beautiful. You would not exist if there was no beauty within. 💚
