Inspiration from Rumi

I want to start a series called Inspiration from Rumi. Rumi, born in 1207, was an influential Persian poet, who shared his knowledge through poems and prose. I think his writing is profound and needs to be continuously shared.

I want to center some posts around some of his notable quotes and I want to give my insight into how I would like to apply them to my life. I will start here.

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.” Rumi

I am drawn to many thing in the world. One minute you may see me learning ASL, the next moment I may be thinking about becoming an EMT. I have experienced many things in life and most of those experiences had one thing in common. I believe that I am silently drawn to these activities by my love for helping people. In all that I have done, I have loved and learned so much from them.

Are you being pulled in the right direction?
