I love a good acronym and f.e.a.r happens to be one of my faves.
I have found myself in many situations where I was gripped with fear. Whether it’s a scenario where I needed to speak in front of an audience or where I was actually in danger, I have learned how to use my fear to respond to all the challenges thrown my way.
Life is scary. I say this because there is no way of predicting the future and it leaves everything to chance in the sea of the unknown.
Life may be unpredictable, but you can always choose your next move.
When fear rises up inside, you have a choice on how you handle the situation. You can face everything and rise to confront your troubles or you can forget everything and run, giving into panic. It’s your choice.
I have always been afraid of heights. I remember wanting to skydive so I called the skydiving school and booked it same day. I knew that if I waited, I would lose the nerve. You know what? I am so glad that I went. It gave me an opportunity to see the world from a different perspective.
Yes, life is scary. Yes, I would love to know how this chapter of my life will conclude or even flip to the back of my story and see how it ends. But, courage comes from the journey and not the destination. The more of life I face, the better I am at facing what comes my way and the higher I rise into being the best version of myself.
I had a period of my life where I longed to forget everything and run. I noticed that whenever I tried to hide, whatever I was hiding from just waited for me to face it.
We’re all afraid sometimes and we have to do things while feeling this way. Today, I hope you think about how do you handle your fear.
